Rose McGowan

"Rose", born September 5, 1973 was an American actress. After her
film debut in a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan was
recognized for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) with an Independent
Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough role came
in the film horror Scream in 1996. She was then the lead in the film Jawbreaker
(1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan was best known for her role in
Charmed which was a supernatural-themed drama series that aired on WB from 2001
to 2006. She then appeared in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's
double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated for the
Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. She
appeared in the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) as well as released her
debut album, Planet 9, in 2018 and was followed by a second repackaging in
2020. McGowan was recognized by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the
magazine’s Person of Year in 2017. She spoke out against harassment and sexual
assault, particularly the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. In the year
2018, she released Brave the memoir of her life, and was a part of Citizen
Rose, a four-part documentary series.\
