Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a director, actor, and musician who has directed a number of episodes of TV that include The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as well as other. She also served as Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and has been tapped to direct two pilots that are in development. Milena was one of eight filmmakers chosen by AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, and also the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. The short film she made and the TV show proof-of-concept titled Unspeakable featuring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober It had its World premiere at SXSW and won the Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won the Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has been in over 100 episodes of television acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She was also featured in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) that led to her role as the very first and only female detective on the Emmy-winning series Law & Order (1990). She has been featured or reprised on a variety of other shows, including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family); and as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena was also seen in a variety of movies like Sordid Things (2008); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015). She also appeared in a movie with Method Man. Milena was born in Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she graduated with a double major vocal performance and premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She also graduated as valedictorian. After graduation, she capitalized on her ballet education to make an appearance on Broadway in the production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
