Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston), Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright,
a pharmacist executive. Her birthplace was San Diego, California. She started
her professional career as a model in the year 1980 at age 14, and worked both
in Paris as well as Japan. When she finished high school, she decided to pursue
a career as an actress. She was cast in the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), in
which she was nominated 3 more times for Daytime Emmys. She became a fan of
Dane Witherspoon during the first season. They got married in the year 1986.
She was the princess bride (1987) in the title role. After leaving the cast of
Santa Barbara, she got the role of the main character in Denial (1990) along
with Jason Patric. She met Sean Penn in 1990 while she was in State of Grace
(1990). They had a daughter Dylan Frances with him and a son named Hopper Jack.
Robin returned to Hollywood with Tara one of the most significant roles of her
career after taking breaks. She was stunning and brilliant. In the following
film, she appeared Toys (1992) in the film Toys (1992) in which she starred
alongside Robin Williams. She gave an enthralling performance. Wright was also
in 1994's blockbuster blockbuster Forrest Gump (1994), in the lead role with
Tom Hanks. As a result of her performance as Jenny Wright, she received a
nomination for a Golden Globe Award. She was offered a minor role in The
Crossing Guard (1995), with Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she was
cast in the title role in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen
Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing. Then, she
appeared alongside William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
