Mary-Louise Parker

 Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2, 1964. She is an American actress. Following her Broadway debut as Rita in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss in 1990 (for which she was awarded an Tony Award nomination), Parker became famous for her roles in films such as Grand Canyon (1991), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Client (1994), Bullets over Broadway (1994), A Place for Annie (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), The Portrait of a Lady (1996) and The Maker (1997). Parker was awarded the 2001 Tony Award as Best Actress in an Independent Film for her performance in David Auburn's Proof of Catherine Llewellyn. In the NBC television show The West Wing she starred again as Amy Gardner, and was nominated for an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sustained actress in an Drama Series. Her performance as Harper Pitt in HBO's acclaimed mini-series Angels in America in 2002 earned her the Primetime Emmy Award as well as a Golden Globe. In 2006, Parker won the Golden Globe Award. In 2006, Parker was nominated to the Primetime Emmy Award. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker returned to Broadway in 2019 , to appear in The Sound Inside, for which she was awarded her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. Parker has contributed to Esquire magazine since 2007. She also published Dear Mr. You in 2015. In 2017, she appeared as Roma Guy on the ABC television miniseries called When We Rise. In 2018, she was an advisor to the political on Billions which is the Showtime series.
