Kari Matchett Biography

Kari Matchett is an Canadian actress, best known for appearing in movies like 'Apartment Hunting, 'Men with Brooms,' and 'The Tree of Life.' Born and raised in Spalding, Saskatchewan, she later moved to Alberta, Canada, from where she graduated high school. She began to develop an interest in acting in her teens. In order to further her training in acting she went to the National Theatre School' in Montreal, and then the Moscow Theatre School'. In 1996 she was an actor in the Canadian series titled "The Rez." She was a part of shows like 'Forever Knight' "Ready or Not?" and many others in the in the same year. In the late 1990s when she made her film debut with the film titled "Papertrail" and then acted in films like "Men with Brooms" and "Cypher." She also played a supporting role in shows like 'A Nero Wolfe Mystery and 'Blue Murder. Although she kept appearing in films throughout the decade however, her appearances in films were fewer compared to the roles she played on television. In 1998, she played the lead role of 'Colleen Blessed' in the Canadian drama series titled 'Power Play.' The show was on for two seasons with 26 episodes, and was highly praised by critics as well as advertisers. The actress was nominated for the 'Gemini Award' for her performance in the series. Jude Lyon Matchett was her first child. She didn't disclose the name or father of her child. According to some sources, the father of her boy is her former boyfriend. Kari Matchett met T.W. Peacocke began dating Kari Matchett around the middle of 1990s. They were married in the month of October 1998. They divorced in 2006 after their marriage was broken in the middle of the year.
