Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef-turned-tv personality, and former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook will show you how to master easy techniques as well as her distinctive spiky blond tresses. Chef Burrell was employed at some of the most prestigious New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and geography. Also, she was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for culinary arts and cooking from an early age. She pursued her passion for the industry of restaurant management by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." There was no way to be able to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell following her graduation from The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy worked for one year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. Her understanding grew of Italian culture and cuisine through her travels in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which improves children who are facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador. she promotes youth diabetes awareness. Her travels are frequent across the country as both a mentor and the guest speaker who discusses her work and passion for cooking. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to be able to share her passion for cooking with many others.
