Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California, the youngest daughter of media mogul, producer and singer Quincy
Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Her older sister is Kidada Jones, as well as
five half-siblings from the various relationships between her father and his
other partners. Her father is African American and her mother is Ashkenazi
Jewish (a descendant of immigrants from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised
Reform Judaism. Her birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones has made
statements about her multi-racial parentage, "It was the 1970s and it's
not even that acceptable to have them together." Jones began her debut as
a professional actor in The Last Don in 1997 A mini-series that was inspired by
Mario Puzo. Rashida was also an Harvard University graduate in 1997. In 1997,
she attended the Buckley School, Sherman Oaks, California. Awarded Most Likely
To Succeed. The name she uses is Arabic (O+-O'UO-O(c)) which means "Major,
adult, grown-up, elder or wise". The People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful
People" list. (USA[2002] Half-sister to Quincy Jones III and Jolie Jones.
Martina Jones, Kenya Kinski Jones, Rachel Jones, and Martina Jones. Was
previously married to Mark Ronson (music producer) 25 February 2003. Niece of
Robert Lipton. She was romantically connected to Josh Hartnett, Charlie Hunnam
and John Krasinski. She sang in a Tupac Shakur tribute tune, that was written
by Kidada Jones and her sister. Rashida and Kidada's brother Quincy Jones III
produced the song, and their father, Quincy Jones, made an appearance while
reciting the words of the song by Tupac Shakur "Starry Night" during
the introduction. The poem was the inspiration behind the title of the song.
Rashida's father, who is African-American also has a less significant amount of
English, Scottish and Welsh ancestry (some relatives of Rashida's African
ancestors are from the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida's mother, Ashkenazi
Jewish (of Russian Jewish heritage as well as Latvian Jewish heritage), is
Rashida. Her paternal grandparents are from South Carolina and Mississippi,
respectively. Her maternal grandfather was born in New York, and her maternal
grandmother was born in Dublin, Ireland, of Eastern European Jewish origin. She
has been playing three characters named "Karen" from 2009 to present
on the TV show that is a cult comedy series Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella
(2006), and The Office (2005).
